The 2027 Subaru Crosstrek's changes center on the lineup and the paint menu. The gas-only Sport trim is gone so Sport is now a hybrid, the Limited Hybrid gains a standard power moonroof, and Tidepool Teal Pearl, Sapphire Blue Pearl and Ignition Red join the color story. Subaru also lists an uprated 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER engine as standard on the entry-level Crosstrek.
Subaru says the 2027 Crosstrek will be at retailers nationwide later this fall. For Tampa Bay drivers, the most interesting part may be how the lineup now splits between gas and hybrid, so that is where we start.

How does the 2027 Crosstrek lineup break down?
Subaru offers the 2027 Crosstrek in six trims: Base, Premium, Sport Hybrid, Limited, Limited Hybrid and Wilderness. Last year's gas-only Crosstrek Sport has been discontinued, which means anyone who wants the Sport now gets it as a hybrid.
Two things stay common across the board. Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is standard on every trim, and so is EyeSight Driver Assist Technology.
Gas trims: Base, Premium, Limited and Wilderness
These four use the 2.5-liter gas engine, which makes 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. Subaru describes the engine as uprated and lists it as standard on the entry-level Crosstrek, so the Base gets the same output as the Limited and Wilderness. The transmission is a Lineartronic CVT. The Base comes with a standard dual 7.0-inch Multimedia System with USB-based Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the Premium steps up to the 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system with six speakers. The Limited adds black or gray perforated leather-appointed seats with orange contrast stitching.
Hybrid trims: Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid
The hybrids produce 194 horsepower combined and come with the 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system with navigation. New for 2027, the Limited Hybrid includes a power moonroof as standard equipment.

What happened to Alpine Green, and what are the new colors?
Alpine Green is out for 2027. Tidepool Teal Pearl, a premium paint, replaces it and is offered only on non-hybrid trims.
The hybrids get their own palette changes:
- Sapphire Blue Pearl is new for 2027 and available only on hybrid models.
- Sand Dune Pearl and Citron Yellow Pearl are premium colors reserved for the hybrids.
- On the Limited Hybrid, Ignition Red replaces both Pure Red and Lithium Red Pearl.
Subaru has not announced the complete color list by trim. Under the Florida sun, lighter shades like Sand Dune Pearl tend to keep cabins a bit more comfortable after a day parked at the beach, though the choice is entirely yours.

What does the Crosstrek Wilderness offer?
The Wilderness rides on taller front and rear suspension components that raise ground clearance to 9.3 inches. It wears Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires on Wilderness-exclusive 17-inch matte black wheels.
It is also rated for towing. An uprated transmission oil cooler lets it tow up to 3,500 pounds, which opens the door to a small boat or a pair of personal watercraft for a day on Tampa Bay, once you have confirmed the loaded trailer weight. Subaru has not announced towing capacity for the other trims.

The EPA's figures for the 2027 Crosstrek AWD with the 2.5-liter engine are 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined. The 2027 Crosstrek Wilderness AWD is rated at 24 mpg city, 29 mpg highway and 26 mpg combined.
For the hybrid, Subaru lists an EPA-estimated range of 630 miles on a single tank, which is the figure to keep in mind if your routine includes regular drives from Tampa to Orlando and back.

A gas Base, Premium or Limited for everyday errands
These trims share the 180-horsepower engine, and the EPA rates the 2.5-liter AWD Crosstrek at 29 mpg combined. Drive a Base and a Premium back to back to decide whether the larger 11.6-inch screen is worth it to you.
Sport Hybrid or Limited Hybrid for long highway days
